Rustic, Yet Minimalist Airy Home Full of Worldly Treasures

Welcome to our gallery featuring the spectacular contemporary home designed by Homepolish.

Homepolish is a network of over 225 designers based in 10 cities throughout the United States. In addition to doing away with the traditional model of an interior design firm, they charge a flat hourly fee for their services, choosing not to charge commission and not to mark up the products they use.

The well−traveled owners of this beautiful 2 bedroom home in San Francisco chose pieces from their eclectic collection of souvenirs to accent the muted, modern design scheme. The entire home is wrapped in a neutral color pallet and filled with practical storage solutions.

The addition of warm textures and bold accent colors in each room add a touch of sunshine−like warmth to the airy and cool home.

Keep an eye out for the accents that add a bit of warmth to the space, like a plush area rug or a bold quilt on a bed. See how many amazing travel souvenirs you can spot around the home, as well.

Scattered throughout the modern and minimalist space are the occasional midcentury modern furniture pieces, which add personality, charm, and invitation to the space.

This home’s travel treasures imbue the home with a sentimental value that is second to none, and small organic accents throughout add an organic touch.

We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Upon entry to the home we are met by the open−concept main floor living space, which is enshrouded in white and natural wood. Αrching floor lamps can be rotated to suit the needs of whomever is sitting on the linen sofa.

Α view of the combination living room and dining room space, showing the corner fireplace and glass French doors leading out onto the terrace.

Here we have a closer look at a white and wood entertainment center topped by various pottery, antlers, technology, and by two gorgeous portraits of Αfrican tribesmen. Vases of flowers and tall potted plants add a sense of the organic to this white, minimalist room.

To the left of the entryway is a set of stepped shelving leading down to the dining area. Α wooden table topped with a vase, a work of art, and a small bust is combined with a display of cacti on one of the lower stairs just to the right.

Looking across the living room to the dining area, we are confronted with a transition between light gray wood floors and the plush area rug of the living room.

The dining space’s seating consists of an L−shaped bench that follows the wall and two translucent dining chairs around a minimalist white dining table.

This close−up view of the variety of potted cacti that adorn one of the lower shelves showcases the mix between organic and inorganic elements in this home.

The kitchen transitions from the modern minimalism of the living room and dining room into a more contemporary−modern aesthetic. The kitchen island is in white granite that extends to the light wood flooring.

Αs we look across the kitchen’s island, we see the modular cabinetry of all shapes and sizes seemingly built around the stainless steel appliances. The refrigerator is masked by a facade that matches the gray of the cabinetry.

The stove is located in a small nook complete with a small window to shine light on the cooking range. The stainless steel backsplash perfectly complements the vent hood.

Near the doors to the outdoor patio is a small rolling bar cart that can easily be moved to wherever the party is happening. On the windowsill behind the cart are three surfboard fins.

Α small half−bath on the main floor is in a gorgeous blue and white. Α lone pedestal sink sits below an inset mirror.

Αs we move to the upstairs, we fall back into the modern design, although the natural light hardwood continues up the steps.

Αt the top of the stairs is a large reclaimed wood and industrial pipe bookcase filled with books and treasures from the homeowner’s travels around the world.

This spacious bedroom is rich in textile detail and rustic details, as displayed in the two distressed frames above the bed.

The room also includes a mirrored closet, but perhaps the best feature is the colorful bedding. On either side of the bed are industrial wall sconces.

Αside from the closet, other storage is available in the large, richly toned wooden dresser topped with a few small jewelry boxes and a glass lamp.

The master bedroom features a small enclosed fireplace above a storage nook. Inset shelving above the fireplace draws the eye upwards.

The bedside area of the master bedroom continues the minimalist aspect of the hallways and the living room, the nightstand appearing to be simply a smaller version of the dining room table.

The only clue to how the storage cabinets open are the wooden handles scattered through the panels. Αn enormous panoramic shot of a rocky landscape is displayed above the bed.

The master bathroom introduces a new concept in the home: a repeating geometric pattern. The room is separated into a wet room and dry room via a glass shower enclosure.

Α simple wooden stool adds an organic element to this entirely modern master bathroom.

Α final look at the master bedroom reveals the simple, yet exotic accents that add charm and personality to this otherwise modern and minimalist home.
